Emitting Laser Beam using Laser Transmitter Module

2/6/2019

Comments

The laser transimitter module emits a dot-shaped red laser beam light. This module consists of a 650nm red laser diode head and a resistor. The operating voltage is 5V to emit lights, and the operating current is less than 40mA.  Just a reminder not to look directly in the laser head when it is on because it might damage your eyes.

It has 3pins. The "-" label is a GND pin, the "S" label is a signal pin and the middle pin is no used on this module. The GND pin should be connected to the GND of the Arduino, and the signal pin is usually connected to any digital pin. In our code we are going to use the digital pin 10 for the demo. See the code below.
Code sample for laser transmitter module

In the code example, the laser head repeatedly emits the laser beam light for 3 seconds, and turn off for 1 second.
