Detecting a Fire using the Flame Sensor Module

11/6/2019

Comments

This module is a flame sensor that detects the presence of a fire. A flame is based on the infrared wavelength emitted by flame.  The flame sensor is sensitive to infrared radiation, in the wavelength range of 760 nm to 1100 nm. The sensor detects infrared light up to a distance of 100 cm within 60 degrees of detection angle. The module sends HIGH output if the flame is detected, LOW output if the fire is not detected. This module can be applied to your home, hydrogen stations, gas pipelines, nuclear facilities, and others.

Code example of flame sensor module

Upload the code to Arduino. Test the flame sensor module. If the flame is near the flame sensor, the led lights on and the displayed value in the serial monitor increases.
